H+S. SANTA BARBARA GREENHOUSE WEDDING
It was a wispy-hair, warm and clear-sky day in Goleta, CA for Hannah + Joe’s January bluff wedding. They were married on the cliff overlooking the ocean – and partied all night in their deconstructed greenhouse at Dos Pueblos Orchid Ranch (just 15 minutes north of Santa Barbara). Pretty dreamy – right?
We started off the day non-traditionally at Butterfly Beach with breakfast burritos with the whole wedding party. Watching the sunrise + these two begin their day together was really special – and worth the early morning 5AM wake-up call (also, the breakfast burritos were bomb). The two served their friends Handlebar Coffee – an absolute must if you are in the SB area.
Hannah and Joe fell in love during their time in the Middle East, so they curated their wedding with glimpses of Turkish culture. You can catch glimpses of this in their traditional tea cup party favors, beautiful Turkish tapestry and Joe’s gift to Hannah – a book by her favorite author called “modern living in the Middle East.”
These two have the sweetest love – Joe already carrying Hannah’s shoes as she trekked over sharp rocks down to the beach for our post-ceremony sunset photos. It was a special moment as a photographer to see these two acting out their love – and me just being present and taking it on film. I would just have to tell Hannah to look at Joe, and she would get this love-filled dreamy look in her eyes that you just can’t teach. This wedding was very personal to me – as I’ve been close friends with Hannah for years now... and watching her find a man where I physically saw confidence beaming from Hannah’s face when she looked at Joe. There’s something about seeing someone’s best side come out because they are so sure of someone’s love for them makes you crumble inside with thankfulness. (Insert happy tears).
This special day ended with cereal, board games + one of the most epic dance parties I’ve witnessed. Congratulations Hannah + Joe – thanks for choosing me.
