After a rushed drive through smoggy LA afternoon traffic, I pulled along the open sea to meet Nate and Maddie for their engagement shoot. I'd never met them before, and actually walked past them on the way to our meet-up-locale- but was instantly greeted with hugs and introductions once we realized who each other were (Intro's at a public place always feel a bit like a blind date #photographerlife).

We grabbed some coffee and talked about Nate's outdoor adventure job and Maddie's dreams for Medical School (and surprising out-of-state mutual friends + hilarious Tinder stories). We hopped in Nate's subaru and headed up the canyon for our first location. We swapped backpacking stories (s/o to High Sierra at APU) and our weaknesses towards the cold weather, and my enamor shot through the roof with this couple. I love their outlook on nature, friendships and treating our world + people better. [I'm going to convince them to come and surf with me in Nicaragua - so be looking out for a future post on that... just fyi].
